I turned on the TV this morning to see Russell Simmons talking about the benefits of meditation. I've been trying this week to carve out time to meditate and so far, I've done it every day. He was talking about mantra meditation and the idea of having a mantra you repeat while meditating. I don't usually do that but today, as I closed my eyes, the following phrase came to me: "I am good, I am strong, I am peace." I literally didn't even think about it; it just rose up from within. It was kind of strange because I'm not sure why those particular words came to me.. It's not as if I feel "bad," which is the opposite of good. But, there it was, so I stuck with it. And, as I sat and repeated it over and over again, it soothed my soul. Close your eyes and see what arises in your mind. Maybe it's a message from your soul to your brain or from your heart to your head.
