Yoga for Children

Karen has been teaching children in Boston since 2003 and offers yoga services to children of all ages. Yoga is a wonderful way for children to learn to express themselves, develop cognitive and physical skills and learn about mindfulness. Part of the overall teaching that Karen does includes teaching pre-school as well as older children in a variety of non-profit settings in Boston.

If you work in a non-profit or other setting that serves children and would like to have a special yoga related event or discuss creating a children’s yoga program, please send an email. Karen has worked with pre-schools in Boston, the Boston Public Library system, Big Brothers Big Sisters Association, the Boys and Girls Club, the Girl Scouts and local schools in the Boston area.

Current programming includes regular classes at the South Boston Neighborhood House (Pre-school up to 8 years old) and several locations of the Partners Health Care/Mass General Hospital Pre-schools.

Children’s Yoga Training

Karen offers an introductory course on how to teach children’s yoga. It includes a manual with lesson plans to get you started. Contact Karen for information about how to set up your training.

Group classes for children are on hold as of March, 2020. However, Karen is offering Preschool Learning Pods starting in August, 2020, which is a service where Karen will come to your home and provide a 3 or 4 hour block of structured time for your child and up to 2 other children. There will be yoga games, storytime and other preschool aged appropriate activities. For more information, email Karen.
