This time of year is always sad for those of us that live regions where there are four distinct seasons. Summer is coming to a close and with it, there are back to school activities, a re-setting of the alarm to those early times and more of a “nose to the grindstone” mindset.

Before you say your good-byes to what is my favorite season, take a few minutes today to decide how you’ll best use the day and the weekend leading up to the holiday. If you’re not already on vacation or don’t have one planned, you’ll need to work a little harder to plan your days. But it’s so worth it and important so that you feel rested and you also feel like  you had time to do things you enjoy.

I’ve become an avid user of the “Notes” function on my i phone. Last night, I made a list of things I’d like to do this weekend. I’m fortunate in that I have Thursday and Friday and Monday off, so I’m looking forward to being away from yoga for a bit! Here’s what’s on my list:

Beach

A long run

Driving range to hit some golf balls

Lobster

Sushi at my new favorite place

A local farm that has rescued animals

Bulk cooking of muffins and other healthy meals

I hope to also find time to just relax, read a book and put my feet up. While I’m sad summer is ending, I am looking forward to what fall may bring.

Enjoy your holiday!

Peace.
