Hello, and WELCOME to the Bare Bones Yoga Podcast: Conversations for Yoga Teachers! This is EPISODE 14 and we’re going to explore movement from the perspective of both anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology and rehabilitation. My guest, Josh Landis, has extensive experience in these areas and I know you’re just going to love the science and evidenced based discussion we’ll have.
Josh is a strength coach and licensed massage therapist by trade, but more so likes to be referred to as a movement coach and manual therapist. Josh combines many different bodywork techniques and movement modalities to create an integrated approach to helping clients resolve pain, expand movement capacity, and improve overall performance.Â
In this episode, Josh and I talk about movement from the perspective of how you can effectively cue students, what it means when the body moves in different ways, outside what we might think is the “ideal†alignment of a shape, position or pose and how he shares his approach to professional growth and learning at the end of the podcast so you have a roadmap to follow for your own journey.Â
You can contact Josh via his website at: landismovementsystems.com
And you can follow him on Instagram using the same name.

Love the podcast
I have been a client of Josh basically since he moved here to colorado. I had severe pain in my feet and after months of working and assessing issues the pain in my feet was just gone!! I was able to do normal everyday activities that I had not been able to do for years because it hurts so much just to even walk around. Even though most therapists don’t like to accept the fact that they “fixed†or “healed†their clients, if it wasn’t for Josh I would still be cripple today. Yes I did all the work but Josh is the one who figured out what was wrong and through several different tests
made my feet work again.
Julie, wow! What great feedback! How did you find the podcast? I am so glad you caught it! That info about how Josh helped you is just amazing! So happy you’re on the right track and the thoughts you shared really drove the point home.. work with the right people, focus on foundation, bring in anatomy and biomechanics and wonderful shifts can happen. Love it! Thanks, Karen
