Hey there, yoga teacher!
When was the last time you had a question about anatomy? Maybe it was a cue you heard and you weren’t sure of the rationale for it. Maybe a student asked you a question about the hip or the knee and you weren’t sure how to answer. Maybe you wanted to build a sequence but you weren’t sure of the poses to pick that would reinforce the theme.
Enter: the internet. Google, You Tube, Facebook, Instagram. they ALL have anatomy information for yoga teachers.
But can you really LEARN from free information or do you need to PAY for it?
Let me start out by saying this: I provide a TON of free information on anatomy for yoga teachers. And I know that teachers can learn from it because they’ve told me as much. But in order to really learn and learn how to apply what you’ve learned and to do it in as efficient a way as possible (instead of it taking YEARS), it’s worth paying for it!
And, guess what? When you invest in a training, any training, it’s a HUGE step forward to believing in yourself. It’s like making a bet on YOU! When you stay in the “free info zone” only, it’s basically like you’re telling yourself, ” This is all you can do so make the best of it. I’m not sure it’ll pay off if you actually invest in something.”
How do I know this? Because I’ve told myself the same thing about training programs I’ve wanted to buy. And, I’ve also heard time and time again from teachers who invest in my program, “Why didn’t I do this years ago?”
So, if you’re looking for a better way to get where you want to go in your teaching, first think of the skills you want to build. Then, look for a training program that’s designed to help you build THOSE skills. Don’t invest in a general program if there are specific skills you want to build. Be picky. Be specific. Be clear. Do your own evaluation before you put down one penny. What’s the alternative? Letting a quest for more training hours or a need to have a certain “level” of registration drive your decision.
Once you put yourself in the driver’s seat and embrace that you’re worth the risk, taking that next step is easy!
Now, having said all that, there are indeed still free opportunities to learn out there; just don’t make it the ONLY thing you do. You can join me for my free training which consists of 3 workshops, starting THIS Thursday, 9/9. The difference between this free training and a lot of the others is that I’m actually going to teach you SKILLS, the skills of cueing, sequence building and answering student questions.
