All this week, I’m posting live videos on Facebook to teach anatomy lessons to yoga teachers. Learning anatomy is one of the more challenging aspects of yoga teaching and while it’s a complex subject, it’s critical that teachers understand it to some degree. The movement practice of yoga depends on a teacher’s ability to share cues that reflect what should be happening in the pose as well as ways to modify poses as well.
I’m always looking for fun and easy to access ways for teachers to build their anatomy knowledge. Since so many teachers have access to Facebook and my Facebook group on anatomy has over 600 members at this point, I decided to go ahead and start an anatomy challenge video series in that group. Through these five days’ worth of videos, you’ll learn anatomy through short lessons that highlight different parts of the body. Each one will teach you different muscles, their actions, share myofascial release techniques and more.
I also will add a quick quiz at the end so you can test your knowledge. The answers will be posted in the comments so as long as you don’t look before answering the questions, you’ll be able to truly “test” your knowledge! And, for anyone that comments during the week that these are live, March 18-22, 2019, your name will be entered into a raffle to win prizes! I’ll be giving away gift packs of either essential oils or myofascial release ball kits along with my book, “Structure and Spirit.”Â
So, to join in the challenge and learn anatomy, all you need to do is join my anatomy Facebook group by clicking here.Â
Hope to see you in there and don’t forget to leave a comment!
