I recently got some good advice and it really hit me: sometimes there are lines that can sound trite, but they really do impart wonderful wisdom. When I think about it, I’ve gotten some really good ones over the years, many from parents and from a handful of friends. I’ll share some of what’s hit me here but encourage you to share a good line or two from your life or something you’ve heard that inspired you.
Sometimes you have to take a different path to end up exactly where you need to be.
Don’t ever write anything in an email that you wouldn’t feel comfortable with on the cover of the NY Times.
If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
Things are not always as they seem.
Our integrity is all we have.
Pay yourself first.
Don’t take things personally.
Luck is where opportunity meets preparation.
So, how about it? What piece of good advice has really hit home for you?
